San Diego Padres Director of Latino Relations - baseball jobs SUMMARY: The Director of Latino Relations will be responsible to create and implement Latino outreach initiatives that
support the development of the Padres overall marketing plan; serve as the Padres Representative in Latino Community on both sides of the border, primarily focused North of the border; will lead and facilitate many of the Padres public relations efforts in the Latino Market. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Development of the Padres Latino initiatives for the Latino Community, including public relations opportunities Along with the Director of Marketing and Assistant Director of Marketing, plan, write, and distribute Noticias Padres, the Padres Spanish Magazine Involved in the planning, promotion and execution of Latino Marketing Special Events, such as Mexico Opening Day, Fiesta con los Padres, Padres Caravana, Youth Clinics and FanFest Represent the San Diego Padres at various community functions in the Latino Market on both sides of the border Direct and clearly communicate the club’s key messages and objectives in the Latino community Represent the Padres in the Latino community, through participation in committees, boards of directors or appropriate community groups Determine appropriate and reasonable support opportunities for the Padres in the Latino Community and facilitate fulfillment of these community sponsorships with the Padres Community Relations Department Develop and update the Padres Latino Relations Report on an annual basis and work with outside parties to maintain positive perception of the Padres long-standing Latino outreach efforts. Work with the Padres Media Relations Department on the translation and distribution of Padres press releases to the Hispanic/Mexican media; to develop and implement on air opportunities for Padres players and executives on Latino radio and television media stations, with emphasis to the Padres rightsholders; to set up relevant press conferences and regular meetings with Hispanic/Mexican media, involving key Padres executives; to develop and execute Padres editorial opportunities with Hispanic/Mexican print Develop and deliver the Padres messages on air with our radio and television Spanish broadcast partners. Plan and develop ancillary Padres programming with our broadcast partners to deliver the Padres messages. Create and execute a regular interview schedule for Padres player and executive call-ins on Spanish broadcast partners stations. Plan and run Latino fan forums to garner feedback from Padres fans in the Latino Market. Work with Major League Baseball Advanced Media to increase fan friendly content on padres.com/en espanol. Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Marketing or Executive Vice President of Communications. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the following minimum requirements: A minimum of Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent preferably with a major in Communications, Marketing or similar field. Master’s degree a plus. A minimum of 5-7 years work experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field in the Latino Market. A minimum of 2 years professional work experience with the San Diego Latino community. Fluently bi-lingual in English/Spanish. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with media, community contacts, customers, vendors and co-workers in both English and Spanish. Excellent writing, grammar, and punctuation skills in both English and Spanish. Strong public speaking skills. Highly organized and detailed oriented. Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Windows software applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Extremely professional image and demeanor. Strong ability to work well with co-workers, supervisors and members of the community in a team environment. Able to work flexible hours, which may include weekends, evenings, holidays and occasional game day duties.
