The Nolan Ryan Express Pitch
By R.E. - Nolan Ryan was baseball,s version of Ol Man River. For 27 years he just kept rolling along, washing away records and the improbability of the calender as well. He pitched seven no-hitters, 12 one hitters, had 770 career stars, struck out 5,714 batters, struck out 19 in a game four time. He struck out 21 Hall of Fame, 44 MVP, 12 brother combinations and seven father-son combos. Six time he struck out more than 300 batters in a season. His fast ball, clocked at faster than 100 mph, is still the Guinness Book Of World Records.

In a day age when heroes and record holder come ago, leaving not even a whisper of smoke, Ryan left his smoking fastball pressed between the pages of the record book time. And, while his records and name have gone to the Hall of Fame, his arm should be assigned to the Smithsonian Institution as a lasting tribute to a man who us kept rollin ' along for what seemed like forever.
