2009 Baseball Hall of Fame Receptions

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Every day in Cooperstown brings a chance to see history. But on Saturday, July 25, fans on Main Street will have the chance to see legends.

As part of Hall of Fame Weekend, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will present the Red Carpet Arrivals on Saturday, July 25, giving fans the opportunity to watch as the returning Hall of Famers enter the Museum for a private evening reception. Fifty-one Hall of Famers have already committed to return for Hall of Fame Weekend 2009, and the legends of the game will ride on trolleys down Main Street before hopping off at the front of the Museum.

Fans will be treated to musical entertainment and trivia contests during the evening, which will be emceed by Cincinnati Reds broadcaster and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony host George Grande. Fans begin to gather on Main Street at around 6:00 p.m. ET, with the festivities scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. The Hall of Famers begin arriving between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m.

Admission to the Red Carpet Arrivals is free.

The Red Carpet Arrivals are just part of an action-packed Hall of Fame Weekend at the Baseball Hall of Fame, highlighted by the induction of Joe Gordon, Rickey Henderson and Jim Rice as the Class of 2009 at 1:30 p.m. ET, on Sunday, July 26. Admission to the Induction Ceremony is free.

The 2009 Induction Ceremony will be held on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, unless severe weather forces the event to be canceled. Seating is unlimited. The Ceremony will be televised live on MLB Network, broadcast nationally on Sirius XM Radio Home Plate Channel 175 and will be available via a Web cast at www.baseballhall.org.
